Model 1860 Colt Army Presentation Case 44 Cal
This Model 1860 Colt Army is typical of the thousands used in the US Civil War and the "Wild West" as late as the 1870's. It rotates, cocks and locks as it should and has been placed in a display case with a good reproduction mould and flask and some contemporary John Dixon items - an engraved cap tin and oil bottle.
This revolver has the rebate for a shoulder stock in the butt and the initials "RA" scratched into the butt giving an intriguing link with its past. At the time of use it cost the equivalent of 3 months wages for an Artisan so this is not surprising.
The revolver is marked with Colt's USA address and Patent and has matching serial numbers.
This would make an ideal Christmas gift for anyone interested in the US Civil War or the "Wild West Frontier"
